Data Centre Security Manager – Infrastructure Physical Security

About the role

Amazon Web Services is seeking a motivated, customer‑obsessed Data Centre Security Manager to lead day‑to‑day physical security operations for its Frankfurt cluster. You will support the Infrastructure Operations team, execute security projects, and ensure compliance with AWS policies and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and manage the contract guard force for daily data centre operations.
• Handle site security incidents, escalations, and provide after‑hours on‑call support.
• Participate in large‑scale event response and recurring security audits.
• Execute compliance processes aligned with AWS standards, legal and regulatory mandates.
• Develop and refine security methodologies, policies, and procedures.
• Prepare reports and communicate security status to management.
• Oversee new security construction or retrofit projects.
• Manage the security P&L, assist with financial analysis and decisions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to protect personnel, information and assets.

Required profile

• Highly motivated and customer‑focused attitude.
• Proven experience managing contract guard forces and physical security operations.
• Ability to walk a facility and identify security gaps in barriers, procedures, surveillance equipment and alarm points.
• Experience conducting security audits and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Strong financial acumen for managing security budgets and P&L.
• Effective collaboration skills across diverse technical teams.
