Data Engineer – Build Scalable Data Infrastructure

About the role

We are looking for a Data Engineer to design, build and maintain scalable data infrastructure that supports our digital identity and trust services. You will join the new Data and Insights team in Hamburg, working closely with a Data Analyst to ensure business data is reliable, accessible and ready for decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and operate modern data pipelines and storage solutions in a Kubernetes environment.
• Implement data validation and testing strategies to guarantee data quality, consistency and reliability.
• Automate manual processes, optimise data delivery and redesign infrastructure for greater scalability.
• Own the data management architecture, tooling and overall infrastructure.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience with ETL pipelines and data warehouses.
• Proven track record of successful data operations.
• Deep understanding of ETL concepts and best practices.
• Excellent Python and SQL programming skills.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Dagster, PostgreSQL and CockroachDB.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities.
• Fluent English communication.
