Data Engineer – Build Scalable Data Platform

About the role

Moonfare is looking for a Data Engineer to help build and scale its data platform that powers AI agents, business intelligence and critical decisions across the organization. You will work in a fast‑moving fintech environment, collaborating with analysts, engineers and stakeholders to turn raw data into actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain end‑to‑end data pipelines from ingestion to storage.
• Own pipeline components, ensuring reliability, performance and scalability.
• Model data using lake and warehouse concepts, optimizing partitioning, file formats and query performance.
• Apply data governance and security best practices, including IAM, encryption and PII handling.
• Support data quality, coding consistency and availability across the team.
• Translate business requirements into robust data solutions in partnership with analysts and stakeholders.
• Identify and propose improvements to existing processes and practices.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of hands‑on experience building production data pipelines.
• Strong Python programming skills and advanced SQL knowledge.
• Experience with AWS (or another major cloud provider) and modern CI/CD workflows.
• Familiarity with DBT for modeling, testing and documentation.
• Comfortable with Git, Docker and relational databases/data warehouses.
• Solution‑oriented mindset, attention to detail and openness to feedback.
