Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and scale a high‑performing team of up to 20 Data Scientists, Operations Research Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers.
• Mentor senior contributors and team leads to build a durable leadership bench.
• Own hiring, workforce planning and organisational design as the team grows.
• Foster a high‑velocity, experimentally rigorous culture with strong outcome ownership.
• Define and execute the logistics data‑science roadmap, prioritising high‑leverage business opportunities.
• Translate complex logistics challenges such as network congestion, pricing inefficiencies and supply shortfalls into robust modelling strategies.
• Represent the vertical on the data‑leadership team, driving tooling and operational standards.
• Collaborate with ML Engineering to design, deploy and monitor scalable production‑ready machine‑learning systems.
• Guide technical decisions on real‑time inference and optimisation under uncertainty, ensuring model reliability and maintainability.
• Communicate model insights and business impact to VP‑level stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading data‑science or analytics teams in a fast‑moving, data‑driven environment.
• Strong track record of delivering impactful solutions that affect large‑scale logistics operations.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior leadership.
• Hands‑on expertise in guiding complex modelling decisions.
