Data Scientist Early Hire, Full Model Ownership, B2C SaaS

About the role

This early‑stage opportunity is for a Data Scientist who will own the entire machine‑learning lifecycle in a fast‑growing B2C SaaS company based in Germany. You will work remotely, collaborating closely with Product, Growth, Engineering, and Finance to turn data into actionable business insights.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, validate, deploy and monitor ML models for churn prediction, CLV forecasting, propensity, uplift and recommendation systems.
• Own end‑to‑end model development, including feature engineering, evaluation, production deployment and continuous optimization.
• Monitor production models to ensure performance remains accurate as user behavior evolves.
• Design and analyse experiments (A/B tests, causal inference) to quantify business impact.
• Establish modelling standards, experimentation frameworks and best practices across the organisation.
• Partner with data‑engineering teams to productionise models via scalable pipelines and feature stores.
• Translate analytical findings into clear recommendations for product, growth, finance and leadership stakeholders.
• Ensure privacy‑conscious modelling and compliance with data‑governance standards.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience building, deploying and maintaining production‑grade machine‑learning models.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Hands‑on experience with modern ML frameworks such as scikit‑learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Solid understanding of statistics, experimentation methodologies, hypothesis testing, causal inference and predictive modelling techniques.
