Data Scientist – Mid Level (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a mid‑level Data Scientist to join a fashion and retail client’s data team on a remote, fixed‑term project. The role focuses on advancing the client’s personalised product retrieval and ranking system from MVP to a production‑ready solution that serves millions of customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build smarter data pipelines that increase business value.
• Maintain and adapt existing pipelines and advanced analytics solutions to align with evolving business processes.
• Conduct structured exploration of cold‑start recommendation approaches, ranging from pragmatic baselines to collaborative filtering and embedding‑based models.
• Provide clear recommendations based on data‑driven experiments and analyses.

Required profile

• Strong Python and SQL expertise with experience delivering production‑grade pipelines.
• Hands‑on experience with DBT or comparable data‑transformation tools.
• Ability to scope problems, evaluate alternatives, and present concise, actionable recommendations.
• Background in e‑commerce or recommendation‑system projects.
• Fluent English communication skills.
