Defensive Aids Simulation Software Engineer

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a Defensive Aids Simulation Software Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team developing high‑fidelity training simulators for Eurofighter pilot training. You will work on the design, implementation and integration of complex sensor and weapon simulation subsystems, supporting both existing Praetorian DASS and future electronic warfare capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise simulation software components for defensive aids subsystems.
• Retarget embedded aircraft software to M68k or PowerPC architectures.
• Harmonise and implement interfaces with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Support integration and testing activities on simulation devices, collaborating closely with subject‑matter experts.
• Participate in all software development phases, from requirements engineering to subsystem qualification.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of software development and interface definition for embedded systems.
• Experience with C and C++ programming languages.
• Familiarity with M68k and PowerPC CPU architectures.
• Ability to work in a cross‑functional, multi‑disciplinary environment.
