Design Engineer – Aircraft Cabin Modifications

About the role

Stirling Dynamics GmbH is seeking a Design Engineer to join its Hamburg team, focusing on aircraft cabin and other modifications within its EASA Part 21J Design Organisation. The role involves creating and certifying cabin modification designs for a variety of aircraft and rotorcraft types.

Key responsibilities

• Layout and design of aircraft cabins and cabin modifications.
• Creation of compliance and certification documentation for CS‑23, CS‑25, CS‑27 modifications.
• Preparation of service bulletins, technical orders, and related procedures.
• Development of supplements, forms and other EASA Part 21J documentation.
• Qualification, integration and testing of cabin parts.
• Communication with customers, the Office of Airworthiness and compliance verification engineers.

Required profile

• Aerospace engineering degree or equivalent.
• Completed Safety Management System training related to aviation activities.
• Basic knowledge of EASA Part 21 requirements.
• Professional level English and fluent German.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Hamburg with occasional travel and remote days.

Required skills

• SolidWorks (or similar CAD software).
• MS Office suite.
• Technical documentation creation and proof‑reading.
• Experience in Design Organisation Approval (DOA) processes.
• Cabin modification and airworthiness experience.
