Design Engineer – Electromechanical (Defence)

About the role

NAXCON GmbH is seeking a Design Engineer to develop electromechanical components and assemblies for defence projects. You will work in Bremen, collaborating with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to deliver production‑ready designs that meet quality, schedule, and cost targets.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse requirements and create 3D implementation concepts using CAD tools.
• Develop design solutions, re‑using existing components where possible.
• Prepare cost estimates for development and manufacturing.
• Select standard and purchased parts and coordinate with suppliers.
• Support procurement as a technical contact and review technical product specifications.
• Process product data in SAP PLM and manage subcontractors.
• Plan and oversee first‑article integration, qualification, and customer acceptance.
• Conduct engineering tests, inspections, and support series‑production start‑up.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, precision engineering, mechatronics or a related field.
• Basic experience in mechanical or plant engineering design.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD design, preferably Siemens NX.
• Familiarity with SAP PLM.
• Understanding of mechanics, optics, and electrical engineering concepts.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work under time and cost pressure.
• Fluent written and spoken German and English.
