Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Design Engineer to join our defence‑focused engineering team in Düsseldorf. You will be responsible for creating innovative components, assemblies and complete systems while supporting simulation and sensor development activities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, detail and manufacture‑oriented engineering of new components and systems.
• Create and maintain in‑house simulation models (MATLAB/Simulink).
• Define technical system requirements from customer and regulatory inputs.
• Develop concept proposals and evaluate optimisation potential.
• Plan and oversee CAE simulations (FEM, CFD) for design validation.
• Validate manufacturability, assembly and service feasibility.
• Approve component designs and 2D documentation.
• Identify and collaborate with external suppliers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in product design, prototyping and testing.
• Experience with guided‑missile projects or similar defence applications.
• Strong interdisciplinary knowledge in electronics and mechatronics.
• Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• CAD using Siemens NX.
• MATLAB/Simulink for simulation modelling.
• CAE tools for FEM and CFD analysis.
• Technical knowledge of guided‑missile systems.
