Design Engineer – Mechanical Design (Hybrid)

About the role

JBT Marel is looking for a Design Engineer to join its Prepared Foods – Design Engineering team in Glinde, Germany. You will work in a hybrid, full‑time setting, supporting the development and lifecycle management of food‑processing equipment in an international project environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define and coordinate technical requirements for subcontracted development tasks, from concept through build.
• Participate in multidisciplinary project teams, collaborating with engineers, suppliers, and customers.
• Develop design concepts, troubleshoot existing machinery, and create innovative solutions.
• Support products throughout their entire lifecycle, ensuring regulatory compliance and managing updates.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for commissioning, training, and after‑care.
• Develop and modify 3D models and technical drawings using SolidWorks or similar CAD tools.
• Manage product data in Windchill PDM and maintain accurate BOM structures in ERP systems.
• Ensure designs meet industry regulations, quality standards, and internal guidelines.

Required profile

• Strong mechanical engineering foundation with the ability to translate requirements into well‑structured designs.
• Effective communicator in English, comfortable working in international teams.
• Proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with attention to detail and quality.
• Adaptable and hands‑on, able to handle tasks from concept development to troubleshooting.
