Designated Certification Specialist for Mission Support Systems

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a Designated Certification Specialist to support mission support systems for platforms such as the Eurofighter, A400M, Eurodrone and Tornado. Working in an agile, international team, you will collaborate closely with German Air Force pilots and airworthiness authorities to ensure compliance and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and ensure compliance of contracted capabilities according to airworthiness standards in partnership with the Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE).
• Participate in meetings with airworthiness authorities and internal/external stakeholders.
• Support the definition and improvement of development and verification processes.
• Provide airworthiness and systems engineering expertise throughout the lifecycle of mission support software projects, including system concept definition, design, requirements engineering, and test & qualification.
• Ensure customer satisfaction, technical correctness, and process adherence.

Required profile

• Degree in Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience working with airworthiness standards and certification processes.
• Ability to collaborate with pilots, authorities, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication skills in English; German is a plus.
