Deskside System Administrator

About the role

The Deskside System Administrator provides on‑site technical support for end users in Berlin and occasional locations in Switzerland. Working 20 hours per week in Germany and 8 hours per week in Switzerland, the role ensures that desktop, laptop and peripheral issues are resolved quickly and in line with service level agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve customer support issues on‑site.
• Configure hardware and software to customer specifications.
• Create and maintain support documentation.
• Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, and peripherals.
• Work with vendors to diagnose and fix hardware problems.
• Support Windows and macOS images, evaluate new product versions and recommend upgrades.
• Diagnose network connectivity and wireless access issues for local and remote devices.
• Perform hardware upgrades such as memory, keyboards, motherboards, and other components.

Required profile

• Team‑oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Customer‑centric attitude and ability to explain technical issues in simple terms.
• Attention to proper documentation.
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 lb.

Required skills

• Windows O365 support.
• Laptop hardware troubleshooting.
• Installation of laptop software.
• Experience with Windows 10 and Windows 11.
• Basic knowledge of ServiceNow or Summit (preferred).
• Strong general troubleshooting abilities.
• Familiarity with Windows and macOS imaging.
• Network connectivity troubleshooting.
