About the role

The role involves contributing to the creation of open‑source machines by developing both software and electronic components. You will work on a variety of tasks ranging from research to hands‑on prototyping and documentation.

Key responsibilities

Research and analyse the current state‑of‑the‑art technologies for machine building.
Develop embedded software and machine‑related software solutions.
Design and develop electronic systems that integrate with the machines.
Assist in the general design, prototyping, production and testing of machine components.
Assemble and test machines, prepare machine kits and organise the machine shop.
Create documentation for open‑source machines, including manufacturing guides and usage instructions.
Lecture and support machine‑building workshops and provide lab consultancy.
