DevOps Engineer – Cloud & Kubernetes (f/m/d)

About the role

As a DevOps Engineer at aedifion you will ensure the stability, scalability and security of the company’s cloud platform. Working closely with the Senior DevOps Engineer, you will enable development teams to deliver features quickly and reliably.

Key responsibilities

• Own the availability, scaling and performance of the European cloud environment, including updates and maintenance.
• Operate and evolve the Kubernetes stack (k3s, Rancher) with container, networking and security management.
• Develop and maintain Terraform modules and Tanka/Jsonnet configurations to automate provisioning.
• Optimize GitLab‑based CI/CD pipelines for faster, reproducible builds and deployments.
• Enhance monitoring and observability using Prometheus, Loki and Grafana, defining metrics and alerts.
• Implement secure base images, firewall rules and network security concepts, and support penetration testing.

Required profile

• Strong background in cloud infrastructure and platform operations.
• Proactive mindset for security, automation and continuous improvement.
• Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
