Director – Defence Advisory (Berlin)

About the role

Brunswick is expanding its Defence practice and seeks a Director based in Berlin to lead advisory work for senior decision‑makers across government, industry and capital markets. The role combines client advisory, business development and thought‑leadership in a rapidly evolving security environment.

Key responsibilities

• Strengthen Brunswick’s advisory capabilities by engaging with key stakeholders in Berlin, Germany and internationally.
• Build and enhance the firm’s reputation among senior decision‑makers, political stakeholders and the media.
• Represent Brunswick’s strategic advisory services to clients and internal/external partners.
• Support a Partner in developing new client mandates and advising CEOs, board members and other senior corporate leaders.
• Deliver advisory on sector‑specific policy, financial transactions, geopolitical developments and strategic business‑development initiatives.
• Lead large, complex projects independently while delegating work and mentoring junior colleagues.
• Contribute to Brunswick’s collaborative culture and support new‑business generation.

Required profile

• Deep expertise in the defence industry and its strategic challenges.
• Extensive network across government, media, industry associations and the private sector.
• Proven ability to build and maintain long‑term relationships with senior stakeholders.
• Confidence to engage discreetly with senior decision‑makers on strategic mandates.
• Strong understanding of political strategy and excellent writing/editorial skills.
