Director of Communications – Berlin (Hybrid)

About the role

We are looking for a senior Director of Communications to shape the narrative of Germany’s largest vehicle marketplace. Based in Berlin, you will work in a hybrid setting (3+ days on‑site) and report directly to the CMO while partnering closely with the CEO, CFO and other senior leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a company‑wide communications strategy and narrative architecture.
• Lead executive communications, including CEO visibility, ghostwriting, LinkedIn presence and media preparation.
• Build and operate a Communications Operating System covering governance, processes, planning, measurement and AI‑first workflows.
• Develop crisis‑management playbooks and conduct simulations.
• Drive the transformation toward AI‑first communications, overseeing the approved GenAI platform and its adoption.
• Manage internal communications, editorial calendars and success metrics.
• Own major company events such as All‑Hands, leadership offsites and People Leader Days.

Required profile

• 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications and public relations.
• Proven ability to align senior stakeholders and implement governance that is followed.
• Strong writing and editorial standards, calm under pressure and decisive.
• Fluent in German and English.

Required skills

• Experience with AI‑driven communications tools and generative AI platforms.
