Director of Marketing – Defence Technology

About the role

Stark is seeking a Director of Marketing to lead a senior team in shaping the European defence market presence. You will translate market intelligence into actionable go‑to‑market strategies that drive measurable outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse defence budgets, procurement cycles and political contexts to set strategic direction for the unit.
• Select and prioritise events, campaigns and demonstrations that deliver real impact.
• Understand how ministries, procurement offices and operators evaluate technology and craft content that builds trust.
• Feed field insights back into product development and brand positioning.
• Oversee the full lifecycle of product market entry, from launch to post‑launch activities.
• Build, mentor and lead a small senior marketing team of approximately eight members.
• Take responsibility for events and exhibitions across Europe.

Required profile

• Deep knowledge of the European defence ecosystem from inside armed forces, ministries, procurement offices, prime contractors or policy analysis.
• Ability to map decision journeys of procurement officers, operators and ministers.
• Experience with strong brand and design organisations that earn trust.
• Established relationships across the German and broader European defence sectors and understanding of NATO context.
• Comfort operating in a fast‑moving, software‑defined, AI‑native environment.
• Preference for outcome‑focused marketing over loud, brand‑centric campaigns.
