Director of Project Logistics

About the role

This senior position leads the newly created Northern European Industrial Projects division of a global freight forwarding group. You will own the full P&L, drive commercial growth and build a high‑performing team to deliver complex, heavy‑lift logistics projects across renewables, infrastructure and industrial manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Full P&L ownership – set margin strategy, manage costs and achieve aggressive revenue targets.
• Commercial leadership – originate, negotiate and win high‑value project logistics contracts, lead RFQs and tender processes.
• Technical & operational excellence – design and execute multimodal movements of heavy‑lift, breakbulk and out‑of‑gauge cargo, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Team building & mentorship – recruit, develop and lead a regional team focused on time‑critical, milestone‑driven deliveries.
• Strategic stakeholder management – act as senior commercial face, forging long‑term partnerships with EPC contractors, industrial clients and subcontractor networks.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in project logistics, industrial transportation or heavy freight forwarding on an international scale.
• Strong commercial mindset combined with deep technical knowledge of heavy‑lift, breakbulk and OOG transport planning.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a regional P&L and lead cross‑functional teams to operational success.
• Track record of closing complex, solution‑driven contracts in energy, EPC or infrastructure sectors.
