Director Procurement Logistics & Distribution

About the role

Adidas is looking for a Director of Procurement, Logistics & Distribution to lead the transport and logistics category on a global scale. The role defines and deploys sourcing strategies, manages the global provider portfolio, drives savings and ensures compliance with policies and targets, and works closely with SCM market teams, regional and local procurement leaders and business functions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze the category, define its profile (spend, requirements, risks, supplier base) and build a global sourcing strategy aligned with business and logistics teams and budgets
• Define P2P and buying channel strategies, including automation potential, and lead the implementation of the category methodology and toolbox
• Conduct internal and external analysis, consolidate requirements and act as business partner to optimize specifications
• Lead contract implementation, compliance, and the RfX process including supplier selection and negotiations, working with legal on agreements
• Manage relationships with key suppliers, including supplier development, performance reviews and contract improvement
• Deliver savings against targets, track them with GFF, and contribute to budget improvements
• Lead a cross-functional sourcing team, govern its operating model and act as escalation point for category issues
• Share best practice with SCM markets, the Global Procurement Community and other business functions

Required profile

• Master's degree in transport & logistics, supply chain, business, economics, finance, procurement or law, or comparable professional education
• At least 10 years of experience, including 5+ years in a similar role in procurement, consulting or logistics, or in a leading LSP, freight forwarder or FMCG company
• Team management experience of at least 2-3 years
• Fluent English, spoken and written
• Willingness to travel up to 30%

• Advanced knowledge of sourcing and procurement methodologies, and of containerized ocean freight, air freight and overland transport
• Expertise in procurement strategy, tools, data, content and automation
• Strong risk and compliance management and specification analysis
• Project and process management, and strong communication and influencing skills
• Proficiency in MS Office
