Electrical Engineer – Conveyor & Parcel Automation

About the role

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to develop detailed engineering solutions for conveyor baggage handling and parcel sortation systems. You will work closely with mechanical and control engineers to deliver compliant, safe, and efficient electrical designs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical engineering documentation, including drawings, layouts, procurement specifications, and functional documentation.
• Coordinate the electrical scope across projects, ensuring alignment with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with the Machinery Directive and health & safety regulations for electrical installations.
• Collaborate with sales to advise on potential projects and create equipment lists for hardware and software engineering.
• Specify and review electrical equipment, including standard and special resale items, and archive all deliverables.
• Generate manufacturing electrical layouts and define activity splits for installation areas, PLC zones, and model variations.
• Forecast equipment needs, define work packages, and monitor progress throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Preferably at least 3 years of experience as a project, lead, or product engineer.
• Experience with integrated automation systems in manufacturing or distribution environments.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in E‑PLAN P8.
• Competence with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, PLM, and PDM.
• Familiarity with SAP ECTR, Citrix, and JIRA.
• Knowledge of power distribution, safety‑stop systems, FieldBus, frequency converters, motors, control cabinets, cable installations, machine control techniques, automation, PLC programming, and Machinery Directive standards.
