Electronics Technician – Testing & Repair (Munich)

About the role

Campbell Scientific is establishing a new manufacturing and client‑services hub in Munich and seeks an experienced Electronics Technician (II/III) to lead testing, troubleshooting and component‑level repair of complex electronic products. The role blends hands‑on problem solving with cross‑functional collaboration and offers a path toward leadership within the new facility.

Key responsibilities

• Perform bench and environmental testing of printed circuit assemblies (PCAs) following established procedures.
• Troubleshoot and repair complex CSI products at the component level.
• Support field applications such as Eddy Covariance, trace‑gas and micrometeorology instrumentation.
• Interface with customers and internal departments to resolve product issues.
• Develop new test methodologies, design test stations/fixtures, and create datalogger programs for debugging.
• Document failures, corrective actions and ensure on‑time delivery of tested products (≥90%).
• Train and mentor junior technicians and cross‑train in other production areas.
• Apply ISO 9001 standards and maintain quality and safety compliance.

Required profile

• Associate degree in electronics technology or equivalent experience; Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
• 3–5 years of experience in electronics testing, repair or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to use standard bench equipment (digital multimeter, oscilloscope, function generator).
• Experience with CRBasic programming and familiarity with Campbell Scientific products.
• Knowledge of IPC standards (610, 7711/7721, J‑STD‑001) or ability to work to those specifications.
