Embedded Software Engineer – Flight Control & Management Systems

About the role

Join the Eurodrone program in Manching and help build the brain of Europe’s most advanced unmanned aerial system. As an Embedded Software Engineer you will develop safety‑critical flight control and management software that enables autonomous flight.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and optimise high‑integrity embedded code (primarily C) for flight‑critical functions.
• Apply Model‑Based Development (MBD) workflows using tools such as ANSYS SCADE or MATLAB/Simulink to create and simulate control laws.
• Own the full software lifecycle from architecture and modelling through testing and verification under DO‑178C standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary aerospace and software teams to solve complex unmanned‑flight challenges.
• Ensure compliance with real‑time constraints and safety‑critical development processes.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in embedded software development.
• Strong interest or experience in safety‑critical, high‑integrity systems.

Required skills

• C programming language.
• Real‑time embedded development.
• Model‑Based Development tools (ANSYS SCADE, MATLAB/Simulink).
• Knowledge of DO‑178C certification standards.
• Understanding of safety‑critical software processes.
