Engineering Technician – Cell Manufacturing (Process / Equipment)

About the role

Join Tesla's Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg as an Engineering Technician focused on cell manufacturing. You will support both process and equipment teams to ensure high‑volume production runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the production team in diagnosing problems, identifying root causes, and implementing sustainable solutions.
• Participate in commissioning and ramp‑up of new production equipment and processes.
• Contribute to Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous‑improvement activities on the shop floor.
• Develop and optimise manufacturing processes to improve quality, yield, and cycle time.
• Monitor process parameters and KPIs, trigger corrective actions, and support Design of Experiments with process engineers.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on production equipment to minimise downtime.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, including inspections, part replacements, and calibrations.
• Create and maintain documentation such as standard work instructions, checklists, and training materials.
• Train colleagues on new workflows, procedures, and equipment operation.

Required profile

• Completed vocational training (Ausbildung) in process engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electronics, automation technology, industrial mechanics, or a comparable field, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• Experience working in a high‑volume production environment.
• Hands‑on mentality and willingness to work in a shift model.
• Fluent German and English communication skills.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Basic familiarity with production systems.
• Technical knowledge in process engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electronics, automation technology, and industrial mechanics.
