Europe Communications Manager – 12‑Month Fixed‑Term

About the role

Canva is looking for a Europe Communications Manager to lead our communications strategy across France, Germany and Spain. This 12‑month fixed‑term role is based in Germany and will work closely with EMEA and global communications teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own and execute the communications strategy for three of Canva’s biggest European markets, covering product, technology, corporate and consumer news.
• Build and maintain strong media relationships with reporters and editors in France, Germany and Spain.
• Manage local agency partners in Germany and Spain, setting direction, reviewing work and ensuring high‑impact results.
• Develop thought‑leadership platforms for European spokespeople and prepare them for media interviews and events.
• Partner with sales, growth and partnership teams to align communications with business objectives.
• Act as the bridge between global and local communications, ensuring consistent and culturally relevant storytelling.

Required profile

• Extensive communications experience across European markets, especially France, Germany and Spain, with a proven record of securing top‑tier coverage.
• Exceptional media‑relations skills and an established network of journalist contacts.
• Experience designing and delivering integrated communications strategies that span product, corporate, executive and consumer narratives.
• Strong B2B and AI communications background, capable of translating complex concepts into locally relevant stories.
• Ability to manage multiple markets simultaneously while balancing competing priorities.
