Facility Operations Manager

About the role

The Facility Operations Manager will lead the day‑to‑day management of a key manufacturing and corporate site in Southern Germany. You will ensure a safe, efficient and sustainable workplace that supports business performance, compliance and long‑term asset value.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily site operations, delivering a high‑quality workplace environment.
• Manage all hard and soft facilities services (maintenance, security, cleaning, catering, reception, landscaping, waste) through external providers.
• Coordinate site improvement initiatives and small capital projects to boost performance and employee experience.
• Develop preventative maintenance and asset‑lifecycle strategies to maximise reliability and longevity of building infrastructure.
• Oversee operational budgets, monitor expenditure and identify cost‑efficiency opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation while driving risk management.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors to guarantee consistent service delivery.

Required profile

• Fluent German and English communication skills.
• Previous experience in Facility Management, Workplace Management or Real Estate Operations, preferably within manufacturing, pharmaceutical or life‑science environments.
• Strong knowledge of building services, workplace operations and asset‑lifecycle management.
• Proven ability to manage external service providers, supplier performance and contract negotiations.
• Financial and commercial awareness with experience handling operational and capital budgets.
• Familiarity with CAFM, IWMS or similar workplace management systems.
• Excellent stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration abilities.
