F&DT Lead Engineer for Fuselage Primary Structure (d/f/m)

About the role

Airbus Operations is seeking a Lead Engineer for Fatigue & Damage Tolerance (F&DT) of the primary fuselage structure. Based in Hamburg (or Bremen), you will act as the technical anchor for the One Fuselage domain, ensuring structural integrity throughout the aircraft lifecycle—from design and certification to manufacturing and fleet support.

Key responsibilities

• Lead advanced structural analysis and fatigue‑damage tolerance evaluations for critical fuselage components.
• Define airworthiness and maintenance criteria, including damage limits, inspection thresholds and repeat intervals.
• Plan, execute and analyse fatigue tests, validating analytical models with test data.
• Collaborate with design, materials and stress teams to embed F&DT requirements into the design phase and certification process.
• Drive cross‑functional certification activities and support global fleet maintenance strategies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in fatigue and damage tolerance engineering for aerospace structures.
• Strong understanding of airframe certification, structural testing and lifecycle support.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
• Motivated by a “People First” mindset and capable of working in a diverse, multinational environment.
