Field Engineer – As‑Built/Redline Specialist (Industrial Projects)

About the role

ENG Bauen is seeking a Field Engineer to support the transition of a major chemical facility in Germany from construction to commissioning. The role focuses on verifying, correcting, and completing as‑built documentation for process, utility, and infrastructure packages on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed field verification of installed systems against issued‑for‑construction (IFC) drawings and design documents.
• Produce accurate redline mark‑ups for mechanical, piping, electrical & instrumentation, and structural scopes.
• Support the creation of as‑built documentation packs for system handover and certification.
• Liaise with Construction, QA/QC, and Completions teams to resolve design‑installation discrepancies.
• Maintain traceability of site conditions, engineering records, and final handover documentation.
• Participate in walk‑downs, verification surveys, and punch‑list validation activities.

Required profile

• Engineering or construction background (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Civil preferred).
• 5+ years of experience on large industrial, petrochemical or energy projects.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs and construction documentation.
• Proven experience producing redlines and as‑built documentation in live site environments.
• Familiarity with EPC/EPCm delivery and completions workflows.
• Fluent English; German language skills are advantageous.
