Finance & M&A Graduate Program

About the role

The 24‑month Finance & M&A Graduate Program at Holtzbrinck offers a structured entry into finance, controlling and mergers & acquisitions. You will rotate through four assignments, including group & investment controlling, M&A, and project‑based roles, gaining hands‑on experience in financial analysis, strategic decision‑making and transaction processes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑depth financial, performance, market and portfolio analyses to derive actionable insights.
• Support core finance processes such as reporting, group consolidation, planning and finance‑system improvements.
• Prepare decision‑making materials, reports and presentations for senior management and the board.
• Assist M&A activities including target screening, financial modelling, due diligence and transaction execution.
• Develop business intelligence solutions, automation tools and AI‑driven dashboards.

Required profile

• Strong academic background in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
• Initial practical experience in finance, controlling, consulting or M&A (internships or working‑student roles).
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• High level of ownership, independence and initiative in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with financial modelling.
