Finance Manager – FP&A & Special Projects

About the role

Stark is looking for a Finance Manager to lead FP&A and special projects in its fast‑growing defence technology startup. Based in Berlin, you will work at the intersection of finance and strategy, building critical financial infrastructure from the ground up.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end budgeting, forecasting and re‑forecasting cycles, building and maintaining financial models.
• Lead the monthly close, produce management reports, KPI dashboards and board‑level materials.
• Partner with department heads on headcount, spend and investment decisions through robust analysis.
• Develop cost accounting and unit‑economics across product lines, monitor gross margin, inventory and working capital.
• Design and implement financial processes and data management within financial systems.
• Drive strategic projects such as fundraising, scenario modelling, pricing, M&A evaluation and integration.
• Manage relationships with external accountants, auditors and service providers, coordinating audits and statutory requirements.

Required profile

• Completed bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or a related field.
• Proven experience in financial planning, analysis and reporting within a high‑growth environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to thrive in ambiguity and fast‑moving settings.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders.
