Finance Manager

About the role

Almedia is building the future of marketing and needs a Finance Manager to own and scale its accounting function. You will transition bookkeeping and VAT compliance in‑house, automate routine tasks, and provide the financial insight that drives the business forward.

Key responsibilities

• Automate recurring bookkeeping by integrating spend‑management tools with DATEV and building API‑based connectors.
• Migrate bookkeeping and VAT compliance from external providers to a self‑designed DATEV environment, ensuring a clean chart‑of‑accounts and audit trail.
• Own intercompany reconciliation and consolidation across entities, preparing the group for IFRS reporting as it expands beyond German GAAP.
• Drive tool setup and integration (e.g., Payhawk), designing standardized procure‑to‑pay and expense workflows with clear audit trails.
• Deliver timely financial reporting, flag risks, and manage relationships with external tax advisors.

Required profile

• Hands‑on in‑house accounting experience covering AR/AP, bank reconciliations, accruals, monthly closing, and VAT compliance.
• Proven track record of moving a manual, external process to an automated, internal one, including chart‑of‑accounts design and SOP creation.
• Experience working with DATEV Rechnungswesen or a comparable accounting system.
