Financial Accountant – Reporting & Polish (Hybrid)

About the role

Join BASF's Global Business Services as a Financial Accountant focused on financial reporting and Polish language support. You will work in a hybrid setting from our modern Berlin office, handling core accounting processes and contributing to group reporting for European subsidiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Process transactions in the general ledger, lease accounting, and asset accounting.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP.
• Support income‑tax calculations and manage group reporting for European BASF entities.
• Act as the primary contact for accounting queries from subsidiaries, internal departments, and external auditors.
• Participate in projects aimed at improving technical, procedural and cultural aspects of the finance function.

Required profile

• Degree in business administration or an apprenticeship with a focus on accounting, or an equivalent qualification.
• Strong motivation to achieve team success and work independently.
• Analytical thinking and enthusiasm for automation and digitisation of processes.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with SAP R/3 or SAP S/4HANA.
