Flight Test Safety & Compliance Specialist

About the role

STARK is seeking a Flight Test Safety & Compliance Specialist to support the Head of Flight Test in obtaining and maintaining the Operating Certificate from the LBA. You will act as the bridge between aviation regulations and our flight crews, ensuring that safety and compliance are embedded in daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of SORA‑based applications, including ConOps drafting, ground‑risk calculations and OSO evidence.
• Develop, implement and maintain internal Flight Safety Procedures and the Operations Manual.
• Monitor EASA (EU) 2019/947, JARUS outputs and national regulations, keeping documentation up to date.
• Manage the central register for remote pilots and test crew, tracking licences, medicals, type ratings and SQEP designations.
• Run expiry‑tracking for operational currency and coordinate recurrent training, audit records and insurance reviews.
• Administer the safety reporting system, submit mandatory logs, and track incident investigations to closure.
• Prepare documentation for Military Permits to Fly, Experimental Certificates, NOTAMs, exclusion‑zone maps and communication plans.
• Act as on‑site compliance representative during test campaigns, verifying briefings and authorisations.

Required profile

• Degree in aerospace engineering, aviation management, aviation safety or a related technical field.
• 3–5 years of experience in aviation safety, regulatory compliance or flight operations.
• Familiarity with SORA methodology, EASA regulations and JARUS guidelines.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to translate complex regulations into practical procedures.
