Fluorescence Imaging System Development for Stress-Responsive Bacteria

About the role

The position offers a deep immersion in bio‑based energy technologies within the TUM Campus Straubing. The successful applicant will join a two‑year fixed‑term contract (with possible extension) to develop a fluorescence imaging system for monitoring fluorescent bacteria under external stress conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research on advanced spectroscopic and chiro‑optical techniques, including time‑resolved emission and absorption spectroscopy, non‑linear spectroscopy, ECD, CPL and magnetic‑dependent spectroscopy.
• Participate in Bachelor’s and Master’s courses, supervise theses (in English) and assist in PhD supervision.
• Develop, operate, and maintain scientific equipment for thin‑film optoelectronics, encompassing vacuum technology, glove‑box operation, and thin‑film characterization.
• Support laboratory planning, administrative tasks and contribute to research project coordination.
• Collaborate on research projects and assist in preparing third‑party funding applications.
