Food Regulatory Compliance Specialist (Home-Based, Germany)

About the role

A global business supporting both brands and retailers is looking for a Food Regulatory Compliance Specialist to work from home in Germany. The role ensures that food products and their labels meet legal requirements in different markets, with a focus on the German market. The advertised salary is EUR 70,000 to 80,000 per year depending on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Review product labels and product information to ensure they follow legal rules and fit the expectations of the German market
• Assess packaging artwork and product specifications for accuracy
• Ensure products meet German and international food regulations
• Advise clients and help products launch safely and compliantly
• Provide regulatory guidance to clients and suppliers
• Identify compliance risks and recommend appropriate solutions
• Manage several projects while meeting deadlines
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of food legislation and industry requirements

Required profile

• Degree-level qualification in food science, regulatory affairs or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
• At least 2 years' experience in a technical, regulatory or compliance-related role
• Strong knowledge of food law, labelling regulations and industry guidelines
• Fluent in English and German, written and spoken
• Experience working independently and managing workload effectively
• Ability to interpret regulations and apply them accurately to product information
