Founding Full-Stack Software Engineer

About the role

Open Ring is building the world’s first open‑source smart‑ring platform that connects wearable hardware, firmware, mobile apps, web products and developer tools. As a founding Full‑Stack Software Engineer you will own the end‑to‑end delivery of customer‑facing web experiences, backend services, mobile integrations and internal tools, helping shape the core of a fast‑growing startup.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the WordPress/CMS website, including custom templates, plugins, analytics, SEO and security.
• Build customer dashboards, admin panels, developer portals and onboarding flows.
• Extend iOS and Android applications to support BLE discovery, pairing, GATT interactions, background sync and offline data capture.
• Design and implement REST APIs, authentication, database schemas, background jobs and third‑party integrations.
• Create sensor‑data pipelines for ingestion, synchronization, storage, visualization and export.
• Collaborate with embedded systems engineers on BLE protocol design and firmware‑mobile integration testing.
• Produce developer‑facing tools such as SDKs, API documentation, sample apps and integration guides.
• Improve reliability, performance, security, observability and deployment processes across the stack.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proven ability to ship full‑stack features in a startup environment.
• Comfortable working across frontend, backend, mobile and CMS technologies.
