Freelance Clinical Research Nurse – 5‑Month Contract

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Study Nurse to join a 5‑month freelance assignment supporting a knee‑surgery clinical trial at sites in Freiburg and Regensburg/Straubing, Germany. The role involves two days per week on‑site work, coordinating patient visits and ensuring protocol compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform all standard Clinical Study Nurse duties in line with the study protocol and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
• Coordinate and support scheduled participant visits and conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and protocol‑specific procedures.
• Collect and process biological samples as required.
• Administer investigational medicinal products (IMP) when applicable.
• Maintain accurate source documentation and complete case report forms (CRF/eCRF).
• Document and report adverse events (AEs), serious adverse events (SAEs) and protocol deviations.
• Liaise with investigators, site staff, monitors and sponsors to ensure smooth study conduct.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with previous Clinical Research or Study Nurse experience.
• Registered as a freelancer and holds a valid professional liability insurance.
• Current GCP R3 certification.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current IATA certification.

Required skills

• Good Clinical Practice (GCP) knowledge.
• Understanding of ICH guidelines.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
• IATA certification for handling investigational products.
• IMP administration and sample collection procedures.
