Freight Cost Management Officer (Hybrid)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Officer in Freight Cost Management to join our Accounts Payable & Freight Cost Management team at BASF in Berlin. The role supports the EMEA region by ensuring accurate processing of freight invoices and cost calculations while working in a hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities

• Check, process and post incoming freight invoices for all legal entities in EMEA.
• Clarify invoice discrepancies and perform freight cost calculations.
• Reconcile accounts and manage relationships with key business partners.
• Collaborate with Logistics, Procurement and local service recipients.
• Drive continuous improvement and automation of financial processes.
• Support ERP implementation projects (Spark and Mercury) using SAP and MS Office.

Required profile

• Commercial training in freight forwarding, logistics services, wholesale & foreign trade, or business studies with a logistics/finance focus.
• Initial experience in a finance department of a forwarding company is desirable.
• Solid knowledge of accounting principles.
• Fluent in English and German.
