Frontend Software Engineer – Real-time UI for AI/ML Systems

About the role

Walaris is seeking a Frontend Software Engineer to design and develop real‑time user interfaces for AI/ML‑driven edge processing systems used in defense and security. The role is based in Nuremberg and focuses on creating high‑performance visualisation tools for sensor data and supporting mission‑critical applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop real‑time user interfaces for AI/ML‑driven edge processing systems such as drone detection and automated target recognition.
• Create intuitive, high‑performance visualisation tools for 2D/3D sensor data with real‑time system feedback.
• Contribute to frontend architecture, improving UI performance, scalability and usability.
• Integrate GUI components with backend services and AI/ML pipelines to ensure seamless data flow.
• Support the integration of software into military and security systems by delivering robust, user‑friendly interfaces.
• Collaborate with backend engineers, AI/ML specialists and system engineers for cohesive system design.
• Ensure usability, accessibility and reliability of the interface in mission‑critical environments.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, IT or a comparable qualification.
• Several years of professional experience developing web applications.
• Fluent in English and German.
