Full Stack Developer – React/Python MedTech

About the role

Join a fast‑growing MedTech startup building a next‑generation medical imaging and annotation platform. You will work on a web‑based system that combines a 3D viewer, AI‑driven workflows, and scalable backend services to support radiologists and downstream machine‑learning pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of a new web‑based annotation platform, re‑using key functionality from the existing ecosystem.
• Maintain and extend the current annotation application, integrating the Cornerstone.js medical viewer.
• Design and implement Python backend services for loading, saving, and managing volumetric MRI data.
• Build advanced annotation tools such as 3D region growing and brush‑based editing, optimizing performance across hardware.
• Collaborate with software, ML, and clinical teams to bridge engineering, radiology, and AI workflows.
• Contribute to architectural decisions, scalability improvements, testing, and developer experience.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional full‑stack development experience, preferably in a startup, SaaS, healthcare, or MedTech environment.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and ability to work in interdisciplinary teams.
• Experience with Docker, GitLab CI/CD, and modern DevOps practices.

Required skills

• Frontend: React, JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML, CSS, Tailwind, shadcn/ui.
• Backend: Python, FastAPI, Flask, Django, Litestar (or other stacks such as Node.js, C#, Go, Java).
• Medical imaging libraries: Cornerstone.js, VTK.js, ITK.js.
• Imaging standards: DICOM, NIfTI.
• Cloud: AWS (or similar).
• Databases: PostgreSQL (or other relational DBs).
• Containerisation and CI/CD: Docker, GitLab CI/CD.
