Future Projects RAMS Engineer

About the role

Join The Exploration Company to support the development of Nyx, a modular reusable space vehicle. As a Future Projects RAMS Engineer you will lead reliability, availability, maintainability and safety activities for upcoming launch systems, lunar landers and LEO servicers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Fault Tree Analyses and FMECA to generate technical recommendations and RAMS requirements.
• Conduct safety hazard analyses for ground operations, spaceflight, re‑entry and recovery, ensuring compliance with ESA Space Debris Mitigation and FSOA standards.
• Perform trade‑off studies and redundancy optimisation in collaboration with subsystem owners.
• Execute reliability prediction and allocate reliability targets to subsystems and equipment.
• Define and drive the FDIR (Failure Detection, Isolation and Recovery) strategy together with hardware and flight‑software teams.
• Analyse availability for critical mission phases and develop maintainability concepts for reusable vehicles.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in Engineering, aerospace engineering or a related field; electronics focus is a plus.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in RAMS engineering or aerospace system engineering.
• Fluent English; German or French is an asset.
