Global Procurement Food Expert

About the role

METRO is looking for a Global Procurement Food Expert to lead the development and harmonisation of its own‑brand food range across all country subsidiaries. You will work from the global headquarters, analysing international assortments, coordinating with local sourcing teams and ensuring strategic suppliers meet performance targets.

Key responsibilities

• Define, develop, negotiate, implement and review the performance of the Global Own Brand Range.
• Align with country subsidiaries to harmonise product assortments and maximise potential.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams (Quality, Packaging, Supply Chain, Marketing) through a defined Own Brand process.
• Analyse RFQ inputs, negotiate optimal quality‑price ratios and global service contracts.
• Monitor supplier production capacity, coverage rates and e‑sourcing status, maintaining accurate reporting databases.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years of international buying experience in food commodities or FMCG.
• Proven track record in category management and supplier negotiations.
• Strong interest in food product development and understanding of HoReCa customer needs.
• Analytical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
