Global Safety & Security Manager

About the role

Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe e.V. is seeking a Global Safety & Security Manager to lead the protection of its staff, partners, and beneficiaries across high‑risk project locations. Based in Bonn, you will report directly to the Managing Director and ensure the organization’s safety framework is robust and continuously improved.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the implementation, monitoring, and regular review of the Safety & Security Framework worldwide.
• Provide technical security consulting to all organizational levels and act as the primary contact for safety and security matters.
• Identify potential threats to projects, staff, partners, and beneficiaries and develop mitigation strategies.
• Maintain continuous access to vulnerable populations by ensuring security measures support program delivery.
• Coordinate with external stakeholders, including donors and local authorities, on security issues.

Required profile

• Proven experience in safety and security management, preferably within humanitarian or high‑risk environments.
• Strong analytical and risk assessment capabilities.
• Ability to work autonomously and advise senior management on security matters.
• Excellent communication skills for internal and external liaison.
