Government Relations & Public Affairs Specialist – Berlin/Munich

About the role

We are looking for a Government Relations & Public Affairs Specialist to lead NIO’s government relations and public affairs activities across Europe, based in Berlin or Munich. The role will shape the policy environment, manage stakeholder relationships and support market entry and business growth for our smart electric vehicle brand.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain senior‑level relationships with government authorities, policymakers, regulators and public institutions across Europe.
• Lead policy positioning and advocacy on battery‑swapping, charging infrastructure, EV incentives, cybersecurity, data and AI regulation.
• Represent NIO in engagements with decision‑makers, industry platforms and legislative processes at EU and national levels.
• Monitor and analyse political, legislative and regulatory developments relevant to NIO’s business.
• Provide actionable policy advice and early‑warning intelligence to EU management, regional leadership and business teams.
• Advise senior leadership on public policy developments and their business implications.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in government relations, public affairs or policy advocacy, preferably within the automotive or electric‑vehicle sector.
• Proven track record of influencing policy and building relationships with senior government officials.
• Deep understanding of EU and national regulations affecting EVs, charging infrastructure, cybersecurity and data/AI.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to translate legislative developments into business recommendations.
