Group Managing Director – Life Sciences

About the role

The Group Managing Director – Life Sciences will provide strategic leadership and governance across a portfolio of innovative life‑science companies operating globally. Reporting to the Group leadership team, the role works closely with CEOs, boards, investors and key stakeholders to drive growth, operational excellence and long‑term value creation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight and leadership for the life‑sciences portfolio.
• Partner with portfolio CEOs to define and execute growth strategies, including international expansion, M&A, fundraising and market entry.
• Identify and implement value‑creation initiatives across commercial, operational, organisational and financial dimensions.
• Monitor performance against strategic and financial objectives, ensuring robust execution and accountability.
• Represent the Group on portfolio company boards where appropriate and maintain strong governance frameworks.
• Build trusted relationships with management teams, investors, scientific leaders and external partners.
• Evaluate new investment opportunities, acquisitions, partnerships and strategic transactions.
• Support organisational development, share best practices and champion performance‑improvement programmes.
• Ensure effective risk management and compliance within highly regulated environments.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in life‑sciences or healthcare‑related industries.
• Demonstrated ability to scale and transform businesses across multiple markets.
• Strong board‑level engagement and governance experience.
• Commercial acumen with a track record of driving growth, M&A and fundraising initiatives.
