Guest Service Officer

About the role

The Guest Service Officer provides friendly, passionate, and committed support to hotel guests. You will actively listen to guest concerns, resolve issues promptly, and ensure a high level of satisfaction throughout their stay.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests, listen to their needs, and provide timely assistance.
• Handle cash transactions, understand US currency and exchange rates.
• Operate basic office equipment such as telephones, computers, and copy machines.
• Collaborate with department heads and shipboard employees to negotiate resolutions.
• Maintain accurate records and follow written procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum one‑year experience in a customer‑contact role within the hotel industry or a related field.
• At least one year of cash‑handling experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Fluent spoken and written English; ability to read and interpret procedures.
• Strong communication, organizational, and decision‑making abilities.
• Friendly, people‑oriented personality with a good sense of humor.

Required skills

• Cash handling and basic office equipment operation.
• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Ability to speak additional languages such as Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Swedish, Norwegian, or Danish.
