Hardware Engineer – E‑bike / Cargo

About the role

We are looking for a Hardware Engineer to lead the development of a new cargo e‑bike concept, turning ideas into production‑ready solutions that keep our riders safe and efficient on the road.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components for e‑bikes and cargo bikes.
• Select and evaluate components and suppliers such as drivetrain, frame, brakes, and electronic interfaces.
• Create technical specifications, detailed drawings and requirement documents.
• Plan, conduct and assess tests and prototype trials.
• Collaborate with external manufacturing and development partners.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety and standards (e.g., EN 15194).
• Work closely with Product Management and Operations to align technical solutions with fleet requirements.

Required profile

• Degree in mechanical, automotive engineering or a comparable qualification.
• Professional experience developing mechanical components, preferably for bicycles, e‑bikes or light vehicles.
• Proficient use of CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, Fusion 360).
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and material properties.
• Structured, solution‑oriented working style with strong attention to detail.
• Good command of German and English.
