Head of Communications

About the role

The ROCKWOOL Foundation Berlin Institute for the Economy and the Future of Work is seeking a strategic Head of Communications to shape and lead its communications activities. This senior role will guide how the institute engages policymakers, media and the public while expanding a modern communications strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Expand and oversee the institute’s communications strategy, covering research dissemination, media relations, digital presence, and stakeholder engagement.
• Lead and mentor the communications team, providing strategic direction and overseeing daily output.
• Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists and policy stakeholders in Germany and internationally to raise the institute’s public profile.

Required profile

• Degree in communications, journalism, economics or a related field.
• Several years of professional communications experience with people‑management responsibility.
• Proven ability to translate complex research findings for policymakers, media and the public.
• Strong interest in social policy, evidence‑based policymaking and economics.
• Fluent in German and English.
