Head of Finance & Accounting

About the role

As Head of Finance & Accounting, you will lead the finance function for Clariness across Germany and its international subsidiaries. Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for financial governance, operational excellence, and scalable processes that support the company’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead finance and accounting operations across Germany and multiple international entities, ensuring accurate reporting, statutory compliance and effective governance.
• Manage monthly and annual closing, group reporting, consolidation and intercompany reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with German and international accounting, tax, audit and regulatory requirements; coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors and banks.
• Oversee treasury, cash‑flow, liquidity planning, financial controls and project financial performance.
• Drive continuous improvement and harmonisation of finance processes, ERP systems (including Sage), reporting standards and internal controls.
• Support strategic initiatives such as finance transformation, ERP implementation, acquisitions, post‑merger integration and international expansion.
• Act as a trusted business partner to the CFO and senior leadership, providing financial insights for strategic decision‑making.
• Lead, mentor and develop the Finance & Accounting team, fostering a collaborative high‑performing culture.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Controlling or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive finance leadership experience in an international environment.
• Strong expertise in German accounting, statutory reporting, tax compliance and IFRS or US GAAP.
• Proven experience managing finance across multiple legal entities, including group reporting and consolidation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
