Head of Finance – Venture Capital Platform

About the role

The company is an entrepreneurial investment platform seeking a Head of Finance to lead its finance function in Germany. You will work closely with founders and senior leadership to shape financial strategy, support fundraising, and ensure operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the finance function across the group
• Own financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting
• Manage cash flow, treasury and liquidity planning
• Support fundraising processes and investor communications
• Prepare board and shareholder reporting
• Coordinate external advisors, auditors and tax partners
• Drive process improvements and finance transformation initiatives
• Partner with leadership on strategic projects and corporate development

Required profile

• 7+ years of relevant finance experience
• Previous experience as Head of Finance, Finance Director, CFO or similar leadership role
• Background in venture capital, private equity, venture‑backed technology businesses or high‑growth scale‑ups is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, FP&A, cash management and corporate finance
• Experience supporting fundraising, investor reporting or board reporting
• Hands‑on, entrepreneurial mindset with ability to operate in a dynamic environment
• Fluent English is essential; German is advantageous
